In just two short weeks, we did all of the following:
We learned about the Kanto Massacre 100 years prior, which the Japanese government refuses to claim accountability for.
We visited the Kawasaki Multicultural center and attended a solidarity symposium at a local Korean church.
We both protested at and toured the Japanese Diet, getting a chance to speak with members of the Reiwa Shinsengumi minority party.
We connected with members of the international "comfort women" activist network in Tokyo and attended a monthly Wednesday Rally in Osaka.
We toured the Kamagasaki Day Laborer community.
We learned about Kyushu's history of forced labor and visited the Nagasaki Museum for Human Rights and Peace. Read More...

After our 2023 trip was done, we returned home to the States, Canada, & Fukuoka. We organized a report-back event in Oakland, CA, to inform our community about what we had learned. We also participated in a teach-back during the anti-APEC protests in San Francisco, CA, and many of our members have held individual teach-backs in their own communities.
We also celebrated a milestone with our partner organization, the Comfort Women Justice Coalition. Watch our short video below:
